Sky City AucklandAuckland Culture - Another cultural attraction in Auckland is the cuisine. “Pacific Rim” is the cuisine that the people of Auckland have perfected. Blending Asian and Pacific flavours is their claim to fame. Seafood is a also main dish on many Auckland restaurant menus. With the fantastic food of course you would like to have some good, award-winning wine. Auckland has it from over 80 vineyards in the area. Waiheke Island is famous for its red wines. Wine making in Auckland has survived since the early 1900s and continues to be quite prosperous. After you have finished your dinner in Auckland there are lively bars and pubs and the city’s casino is located in the Sky City complex, which also has bars, restaurants and a hotel.

 

 

There is great live music and theatre at the Aotea Centre, the Bruce Mason Theatre and Sky City Theatre. There are many smaller theatres throughout regions that also offer fantastic shows. There are Art Galleries by the number and most New Zealand fashion designers have stores in Auckland. Dress-Smart mall for factory and outlet stores is a bargain hunters’ glory and there are also many specialty stores and souvenir shops near the waterfront.

With all the windsurfing and things to do on the beach, Auckland is a summer time lovers dream. Sunny days are in the offing with the beach culture being its own special brand of upbeat fun. There life takes on its own course. Never to fast and never too slow, it is just right.
