If you lose your Map of Auckland while you are in the city that isn’t a problem because most of the stores sell them and you can always access the internet to make a copy. The tourist offices have bundles of maps and brochures. They have quite a few of them on everything to see and do in the area. Especially of the islands, because there is so much to see and do on them so you can have them put together a package for your different sight seeing expeditions. They give them to you for free and it is well worth the stop to the tourist office to have them. You may wish to highlight the areas on the map that you will be visiting ahead of time. It makes it a lot easier to know your route. Your hotel will usually have a Map of Auckland and some other brochures there too so take advantage of those offerings also. The airport information desks are usually well stocked with maps of the area also. You can never have to many. It is better to be well prepared for the trip.
